Karen originally hails from North Carolina and initially pursued an art degree at the College of Charleston. Her direction changed after a scenic painting class and, fueled by a love of New York City, off she went to Brooklyn College for a degree in Set Design, life, and marriage. Karen worked for several Off Broadway theatres, Playwrites Horizons, Manhattan Theatre Club, and The Public. It was at the Public, through a colleague’s sister, Karen got involved with NYU film students and the rest, as we say, is history.
Moving to Hollywood in 1999, Karen has pursued her love of film & theatre working as Designer, Set Decorator, and, in 2006, became a proud card carrying union member, Local 44, as a set dresser & shopper. As a 44 member, Karen has worked on such shows as Sweet Talk, The Middle, American Crime Story: The O. J. Simpson Trial, Angie Tribeca, and the yet to be released, Nine Eleven Movie.
Karen is so looking forward to getting back to her roots, both geographically and in her career as a designer. She is so excited to be involved in this film noir project. As a youth, many hours were spent in the world of film noir, Double Indemnity being her favorite.
